Masakan Madiun Cedar Plank Salmon Fillets INDIAN FOOD


My family and friends have been giving me very positive feedback ever since I started cooking and entertaining with the Weber Genesis. From the whole Iberico pork rack roast, Wagyu steaks to the traditional Char Siew, the results have been amazing.

Deon has repeatedly mentioned that the Cedar Plank Salmon has been THE BEST SALMON he has ever tasted! With such feedback, I thought I should share this very easy but stunning recipe from Weber here.

Cedar Plank Salmon Fillets
(Adapted from "Cooking with Weber Genesis Gas Barbecues For Australia and New Zealand")

Ingredients

3-4 salmon fillets
Olive Oil
Salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Lemon slices (Optional)
Dill (Optional)

Method

Soak a Weber Cedar Plank in cold water for at least 60 minutes. Use a weight on top of the plank to stop the plank from floating.

Once the plank has been soaked, preheat the barbecue for direct cooking.

Once the barbecue is preheated, remove the plank from the water and place it on the barbecue above the left hand burner.

Rub the salmon steaks with oil, salt and pepper.

Close the lid and leave the burners on high while the plank is heating up.

After around 5 minutes the plank will begin to smoke and blacken.

Flip the plank over so the blackened side is facing up and place in the centre of the barbecue.

Place the salmon steaks on the plank and turn all the burners down to medium.

Close the lid and cook for 10 to 15 minutes (10 minutes for medium rare, 15 minutes for cooked all the way through).

Place lemon slices and dill over the salmon. (Optional)
